Certain Death March 9, 2020

I’ve long wanted to be able to post music I’m liking on here in some capacity, and with all the shit in the world functions.php is throwing at me, it sure isn’t happening on the sidebar any time soon. Instead, I’ll make these just regular, short posts and ramble about why they’re grabbing me lately.

I have a weird habit of trashing artists I’ve been a fan of for a while these days, and I’m not sure why. Caby pointed it out with Garbage, and I guess it applies here, but I’m not sure I’d be making music quite like I do if it wasn’t for Brad Sucks. Dude made me realize you can just make it at home if you really want to, and despite the fact that I found him at 11, he’s only stayed relevant as I’ve gotten older.

What “Certain Death” is certainly about, I couldn’t tell you. It sticks with me, though–keep me up with your emotions, and maybe by the time we meet, I won’t be doing the same to myself.

Okay, so you’re feeling all alone
I heard it on the radio
In a broadcast from the sky

And someday, I’m gonna rock the boat
And I’m gonna wanna know
Why it’s a great day to be outside

Keep me up with your emotions
At night, then you can’t
Shoot me down over the ocean
And sigh

Certain death
Haven’t had the heart to yet
Maybe by the time we meet
You can recognize a change in me

Baby, it’s certain death
Haven’t had the chance to yet
Maybe by the time we meet
You can recognize a change in me

I can count the times that it crossed my mind
Sick in bed and dying
From something I don’t have, and will never have

And your best friends won’t be your friends anymore
They won’t pretend anymore
To let you down, or try

Keep me up with your emotions
At night, then you can’t
Shoot me down over the ocean
And sigh
