It all seems like something of a bad dream. Back in the goddamn basement, the burnt out hallways, floor covered in crumbling insulation and chunks of gritty rock, and loud stacks of computer equipment surrounding you. This place is still a shithole, no surprises there, and it's only gotten worse. How has this place not fucking collapsed yet?
And haven't we been over this? Why am I thinking in narration again? Dreadful.
Now all that's left is for the orange firey fox with the overgrown mane to come and snarkily introduce himself. Only problem is, he never does. After some ten minutes of looking between the server stacks and seeing if he's just hiding, you sit against the concrete wall and wait for him.
You get the sneaking suspicion the little fluffy bastard finally found greener pastures.
You do notice one thing—a small cardboard box in the corner with some papers in it. It has "mariteaux" scribbled on the side, and it looks like...well just about everything he left behind, and some drafts too. Someone saved it, ostensibly.
You peek through the box and wonder where he is now. Maybe he found another server room to haunt. Got kicked out, maybe. Maybe he found another Eeveelution finally and he's busy keeping her warm. There is a forest outside, after all...
